The Masonry Institute of Washington was founded in 1972 to promote masonry construction, provide educational and technical resources, and provide a point of contact for masonry design and construction professionals, the general public and mason contractors. The MIW supports the industry through technical assistance, educational opportunities and networking.
At MIW we believe in the power of education and with so much changing, there is a lot to learn. Most Education Programs are free of charge to architects, engineers, general contractors, and local community construction representatives.
The Masonry Institute of Washington has a variety of technical resources available to the design and construction community including The Masonry Systems Guide Northwest Edition, technical committee made up contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers. Current technical resources found in the masonry system guide include details, specifications, codes, weather and materials.
The Technical Committee representatives can meet with the A/E/C industry to assist in the predesign-design and construction phases.
